World Literature: a Study of International Writers

World Literature connects excellent literature to important historical events, growing your students’ understanding of literature and history. In addition to a better understanding of world history, reading excellent writers helps your high schooler to develop solid writing skills!

World Literature for high school

This is a full-year high school level course, usually taken in the 11th or 12th grade. This course will have your homeschooled high school student studying seven novels, short stories, and several poetry selections. Additionally, there’s an optional honors track requiring additional reading.

Further, World Literature incorporates the essay writing skills taught in our Essay Styles for High School course.  In fact, we recommend Essay Styles as a prerequisite to all of our literature and history coursesEssay Styles may also be taken along with any of our literature or history courses.
